It has been said that Albie has the potential to become the next "Lance Klusener" of SA Cricket. Was awarded the Standard bank International Pro20 Cricketer of the year for 2008 Made his One Day International Debut on February 20, 2004 in a match against New Zealand and picked up two wickets. Made his First-class debut in the 1999-2000 season and in his first season he took six wickets for 36 runs for Easterns in a match against Griqualand West to shoot into prominence.
